Rebuilding Safety After the LA Fires
About Us
Founded in 2023, Toxin Test Research is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to protecting LA families from wildfire contamination. Our work began when our Pasadena-based founders experienced the anxiety of the 2023 wildfires and realized there was no clear way to determine if homes were truly safe from invisible contaminants.
While air quality indexes are helpful, they don't address the persistent toxic residues that remain in homes long after the smoke clears. Our organization was established to fill this crucial gap in public health resources.
Led by our executive director with expertise in family therapy and our chief scientist with an extensive background in analytical chemistry, we've assembled a team of professionals committed to community safety.
Our organization collaborates with leading scientists, toxicologists, epidemiologists, and fire safety experts throughout California and beyond. Together, we've developed rigorous testing protocols specifically designed for post-wildfire contamination assessment.
Our mission is clear:
To empower LA families with professional-grade testing that's both accessible and actionable; knowing your home is truly safe shouldn't be a guessing game.
We're more than a testing service—we're a community-based organization with scientific expertise, dedicated to public health. As a recognized non-profit, we reinvest all proceeds into research and making testing more accessible for vulnerable communities. Because in LA, fire season isn't just a season—it's now part of our lives, and we're committed to helping everyone rebuild safely.
